Who is LJ designed for?

The Leadership Journey program is designed to build people who are effective because they are interpersonally competent and self aware. Leadership is a set of behaviours, not a position. That means you don't need to have a position of leadership to participate in a Leadership Journey. The rich learning platform of the ‘Journey’ enables participants to reflect meaningfully as they step outside of the traditional classroom and their cultural norms. Our aim is to stretch your personal capacity, develop awareness about how you percieve the world and to observe and learn from your own reactions that emerge from the controlled pressures of the overseas ‘Journey’ experience.

Authentic leadership is a combination of three key ingredients:
  1. Leadership Behaviours - World view, belief system, values and behaviours. Integrity is then a question of congruence between what you believe and what you do. Relationship building, peer coaching and managing the stressors of the journeyare all crucial elements of the Leadership Journey.
  2. Transformational Behaviours: Our focus is on the empowerment of self and of others in the group. Effective facilitation focuses on personal awareness initially. It is out of our confidence and self-esteem that we are then able to serve others.
  3. Foundational ethical/ values based philosophy and moral integrity which drives our action.
